So...what are the odds of the CSC program being cut to 8 hulls...or cancelled altogether?
I see the benefits of "Made in Canada" solutions for major capital projects like this, but this kind of cost overrun in the name of it is ridiculous. We would be far better off from a capability perspective to just say "Hey Bath Iron Works, just make us 15 extra Constellation Frigates".
There was a good article in the National Post about this - basically saying we'd be better off to do the above for $18B, and provide $67B in other supports to the affected areas.
