I don't know if anyone in the NHL has ever done it, but the term was coined when Iggy had 2 fights, 2 goals, and 1 assist (IIRC) a few years back.
Plus he leads all active players in Gordie Howe hat tricks, so it's still fitting to name it after him, in much the same way as Gordie Howe got the name despite supposedly only ever actually doing the deed once or twice in his career.

I believe Shanahan accomplished the feat 17 or 18 times in his career, by far the most of any player, so it should be named after him if anything.
