hmm some interesting comments from Chicago Wolves owner and the relationship with the Blues:

Levin has been used to the Wolves winning since he and Chicago attorney Buddy Meyers founded the team in 1994. But his team's performance started slipping during its affiliation with the Blues. The 2015-16 season was the first time the Wolves lost more games than they won.
Part of the problem, Levin said, was his partnership with the Blues, which he called "a painful relationship for periods of time."
"St. Louis would like to see their guys win, but wouldn't put any effort into doing it," Levin said, noting that Wolves players signed to AHL contracts produced more on the ice than those signed to Blues contracts. "They didn't do what we expected them to do, and it was difficult."

Also interesting was that Doug Armstrong didn't even mention Chicago in his press release even though it came out after Vegas announced the affiliation.
Guess it really was a tough relationship.
