That would be my guess but there is no point doing it now, he can't play anywhere until next season anyhow. His play right now is to be a good teammate, keep his mouth shut, and you never know what might happen the remainder of the season. Some good discussion about that this week. One good point was the look that entering the portal might be a negative view on his personality by NFL teams. Quitting on your team isn't always viewed in a positive manner. The comparison was to Jalen Hurts, he could have done the same thing when he lost his staring job to Tua but stuck around. He ended up playing and it looked good on his character staying with the team, that might have played into being drafted in the 2nd round. Is there anything to this? Who know, but it's an interesting take. Rattler was at OU when Hurts played there so they know each other. The advice was for Spencer to talk to Jalen before making a decision.
My guy feeling however is that he will leave.
