There's also the issue of Leia surviving in space. When Darth Vader's tie fighter spun out of control, he needed a rescue. He didn't just eject and fly back home.
The problem is that not only was it out of character for Leia, this power, just like the ward drive through battering ram idea, directly contradicts and weakens previous plots.
....ugggh thinking about this scene also makes me remember how they killed off Ackbar like a background character....
