Dinos start the regular season with a 41-31 victory over the Golden Bears which was capped by a pick-six by cornerback Deane Leonard on the final play of the game. Dinos coach Wayne Harris was not pleased with the effort last night, however.
The ending capped an ugly, penalty-filled contest where the two teams combined for 51 penalties totalling 395 yards while the Dinos offence went cold in the second half, scoring just four points.
"I think we had enough penalties for a whole season tonight, not just a game," Harris went on. "It was very sloppy, and we had some bench management issues. We have to do a better job of getting coaches and players on the same page, and that starts with me. We'll work on fixing a lot of those things for next week."
