Trajectory, or progression is definitely very important (key, for me personally)
But there are other factors, including upside - and Poirier has that in spades. He has also demonstrated an ability to dominate in the AHL.
So it is easy to imagine him recovering from his issues and getting back to where he was. Add in the upside and it's easy to be excited about the possibilities.
Goalies are goalies - which was the only reason why Parsons wasn't #1 IMO
