Frankfurt is not especially interesting - it is somewhat like a North American city, with skyscrapers and a big financial district. Close to there, I would recommend touring the Rhine from Weisbaden up to Koblenz, and up the Mosel to Trier from there. Koln (Cologne) is interesting to visit.

Aeneas could give you plenty of good advice about travel in Germany and Europe.
