My problem with this whole program is every time we add a bin the cost of waste disposal goes up. If these programs are effective it should cost us less to recycle and compost. It is a myth that there isnt any space for garbage dumps. It just a matter of cost and hauling distance.
So step one is to include all costs for waste disposal including capital costs then give people the option to join into these other programs to save money if they want to. Right now it costs us more to have these programs the to just dump it in the land fill. This does not make sense
Even if it saved money i would always want the ability to opt out. How much do i have to pay to not participate.
