Treliving has built a stable functional organization that is drafting and developing talent and making the playoffs more often than not.
That's better than some in a very unique and competitive field. He deserves respect and credit.
That said, until someone relieves him of his duties he is bound to be trying to save the season, and as such he is obligated to do the correct thing and replace the coach.
Replacing Ward is the easiest, cleanest, most-likely-to-work and least-likely-to-cripple-the-franchise move that Treliving can make.
