Watched the premiere of the Conners tonight.
Basically it had some interesting moments
Spoiler!
They moved the show to 3 weeks after her death.
For the most part this show was a little short on mourning as the family recovered from the news that Roseanne was pretty much a pill hiding junkie who over dosed on pain killers.
The Aunt went basically insane in trying to help out the family, but the kids were short of being emotional about her death.
Dan was more angry that his wife deceived him all along and showed a lot of anger with the woman who had given Roseanne the pills.
The end of the episode was actually well done as they redid the opening credits without Roseanne around the breakfast table.
You could almost feel that this was a thinly veiled shot at Roseanne by the cast and writers as they talked about her stubborness and how the things that she said were often nonesense.
Man, I don't know if John Goodman changed his eating habits or they did a makeup job, but he looked like a man who was drowing in grief and then needed to lash out at the woman (played very well by Mary Steenburgen who was also nearly unrecognizable).
At the end of the show the message is clear that the family is going to move on without Roseanne and Dan is now the head of the household even helping Darlene's son on which boy he should choose.
The zingers were exceptionally good as the chemistry between Darlene and Becky is so good and their timing is impeccable.
