I'd guess that the plan was to put Zagidulin in the ECHL to help get acclimated to the North American game. With the way he has played so far, that might not be necessary. Since he's on an ELC, they could still put him in the ECHL to get playing time.
If they decide that Zagidulin should be in the AHL, they'll probably look to loan Gillies to another team's AHL affiliate.

I bet there is no chance Zagidulin would accept a demotion to ECHL he would return to KHL.
My guess Zagidulin & Parsons will play in Stockton and Gillies is loaned to another AHL team.
