I had a chance to scratch off a life long wish off my list a few weeks ago, and finally attend a F1 race in person, at the Hungarian GP.
On one hand it was hell on earth. Hot as balls (probably around 35 degrees), everything was 5x the price it should be, and it absolutely packed with people (probably over 100,000). On the other hand the atmosphere was fantastic and the chance to walk on the track and see the pits was really neat to see. What was also a nice bonus was the F2 and Porsche Cup races beforehand.
The race itself was a bit of procession with Ferrari dominating, but it was nice to see Alonso getting a solid result.
No matter where, I would highly recommend attending a race if you get a chance. The race itself is almost secondary, it's the atmosphere that really makes it worth it.
