So that was on Saturday. It is almost Friday. About 100,000 people still without power. Ice is almost impossible to find in the city. My power came back yesterday, so I filled 2 dozen sandwich bags and 6 freezer bags with water (well 2/3rds filled; any more and the bags explode).
The 2018 tornados were bad, but the damage was localized. This knocked over power lines all across the city. Ottawa Hydro said that putting up 250 new poles is something they usually do in 6 to 8 months. They are trying to get it done in a week. |
