I recall when I closed my account just over a month ago, that it took several attempts as it kept failing.
Eventually, it worked.
After reading your post, I tried to log in to see if the account was deleted because when you deactivate your account, there is a 30 days grace period where you can reactivate it prior to it being fully deleted.
My account is gone.
