He hosted back in April of last year. That's a pretty quick turnaround for a hosting gig.

I agree, it does seem like a lot of mediocre hosts of late. Don Cheadle was pretty funny last night though. The cake baking contest sketch was the highlight. Just so unabashedly silly and over the top, and I laughed all the way through it. The dog commercial was pretty great as well.

Gary Clark Jr. was fantastic. It's pretty rare these days to see an actual guitar-oriented rock/pop band on SNL, and he delivered the goods and then some. Hell of a guitarist and songwriter. I can't remember the name of his first song, but he seemed to be channeling Prince on that tune. That was good stuff.
