“Help” Bennett might be kinder than “fix” this early, but shifting him to the wing is something I've suggested more than once over the last twelve months. It's probably the only way to give Bennett truly high-end linemates and might be worth a look soon-ish, especially with Ferland struggling and Jankowski tearing up the AHL.
Calgary's decision makers may desperately want Bennett to become an effective pivot, but in the end what matters is what works for the player. It's probably too early to completely abandon the “Bennett at centre” notion, but at some point it only makes sense to try other things if he continues to struggle.
