interesting tid-bit (observed in TO, but likely similar nationally):

wind piggy backs a lot off roger's network for rural area coverage, however, this can disrupt your signal carrier in urban areas....

This means when you are coming out of a basement/garage/etc, the signal strength algorithm on the phone/bs may result in you first catching signal with rogers (show's as a gsm connection) where you won't actually have any service at all.

This was frustrating, as it could mean that you woudn't have service for 10-15 mins until you reach a handoff point to a stronger signal wind network bs.

Solution: Change your network settings to "3g only" and it has made my service/signal restoration period much more satisfactory.

i don't pay for my phone (work), but once i set up the above, i really have no complaints with wind. If you're saving $, especially if it's substantial, it's not a bad carrier thus far.
