Consider what equipment you have. For example, on one TV we have a shaw gateway portal and a roku. Neither has a power button and are essentially always on. In those circumstances I have not had luck having an automatic switcher. In the case I described the switch I have (bought online for under 50 bucks) tends to default to the shaw box, we have to hit a button to get to the Roku.
