Superman defined superhero movies for decades. Also, adjusting for inflation, it's the highest grossing movie with Superman in it and only aired in 20% of the theatres.
Ironman created the dynasty that is Marvel movies.
Batman 1989 was a cultural phenomenon at the time and kicked off the superhero movie craze.

It really didn't kick off the superhero craze though. It was released 19 years before Ironman with only sporadic comic book movies in between.
Batman Begins definitely inspired the recent revival.
