An argument could be made for Superman: The Movie, Batman or Ironman being more important.
Superman defined superhero movies for decades. Also, adjusting for inflation, it's the highest grossing movie with Superman in it and only aired in 20% of the theatres.
Ironman created the dynasty that is Marvel movies.
Batman 1989 was a cultural phenomenon at the time and kicked off the superhero movie craze.
