From what I've read so far, the original actors will not be the main characters. At most they'll likely just appear in cameo roles. Looks like the story will revolve around a younger generation taking over the Ghostbusting business, I assume with the help and guidance of the original guys.

Potentially so as it's now been confirmed that Captain Marvel star Mckenna Grace will be the lead in the movie, with Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard playing her brother and Carrie Coon playing her single mother.
