People are way too extreme in their evaluations of Treliving, GMs and trades in general. It's always either brilliant or a blunder. The Hamonic trade was never going to be a steal. Tre paid a heavy price. What makes it poor is that he also traded two seconds for Smith and a second for Lazar, and he re-signed Stone. The price was justified in part because Hamonic is on an exceptional contract but all the moves taken together only make sense if Tre thought he was building a contender in the short term. And I don't think anyone sees that coming to fruition unless there's a revival under a new coaching staff.

There are all kind of questions I have about his off-season moves including where our prospects fit into the equation and why pay so much to get Hamonic on a good salary if you aren't going to upgrade the forward corps.

As things are, I think Tre should be trading Hamilton or Brodie in the offseason. Doesn't make much sense to trade anyone else at this point. You don't trade those two because they're worthless but because they're the most valuable in terms of what they can return. Otherwise, you're keeping an overpriced corps together that isn't being effective and you're wasting a strong defensive prospect pipeline.
