I used to have this issue all the time, I would compose my post in Word and then copy-paste it in the forum

I would have to change all the " and ' and - or else when I preview my post all the text would be deleted.

If you are having trouble quoting a post I would bet that it's because you're quoting someone like myself that was composing their post from word or something before they pasted it in their post.
