If this is all you're using it for - I'd get a cheap little hybrid. You can find those for like $500-$700. Similar to the Giant Escape: https://www.giant-bicycles.com/ca/bikes-escape

They have a sub $500 option which was my first bike. Keep in mind - if you enjoy this, the bug will bite and you'll be looking for a newer better bike by fall.
