Prior to Stoney Trail being built by my house we had a lot more coyotes. A few times they would try to lure my dog away from me, and one time they actually surrounded the two of us. At that point I joined by dog in growling and yelling, and that made the coyotes back away. The figured the dog was easy prey, but once the big guy started getting aggressive, they had enough.
