I gave up on HK long ago. The last time i went back there it was infested with mainlander tourists. Was such a terrible experience i doubt i will ever go back.

Having people come to retire here is never a good idea. You get a small boost from the capital they bring, but then are left on the hook for the support of them and their property through their retirement.
The best immigrants are those that come to work or set up businesses. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be actively encouraging migrants from HK to come to Canada, but ones that want to work.
