I'm not sure what the new deal entails, but previously drafted plans don't have Southland extended to the ring road, but rather, extended to allow for development of reserve lands. (Into shopping or housing, I don't know.) See below.
I, for one, wouldn't be pleased with that if I lived in Oakridge/Cedarbrae. Probably not good for property values.
