I think the biggest factor in him dropping was lack of progression in his draft year. That seems to be a red flag for teams – he dropped 12 goals and 5 points while playing 2 less games. That likely scared teams off. Contrast that with Poirier who added 17 goals and 30 points in his draft year, and showed serious progression in the 2nd half of his year. One guy a riser, the other a faller.
