For all you guys with younger kids now, savour it. Spend more time with them, say "yes" every time they ask to play. The cliche that "they grow so fast" is the truest cliche there is IMO.

What’s neat is as they grow you need to meet them at their interests as opposed to shaping them. They have real agency in the relationship which in some ways is better.
I’m an each stage is both too long and too short and equally good kind of person.
