I think a lot of the stigma is gone due to the rise of video games and that D&D has directly influenced some of the best games ever made, can't love Skyrim and think D&D is for dweebs at the same time. Plus, in practice it's basically friends getting together to hang out for cheap fun. I keep telling myself I'll join a friends group some day when life gets less hectic...some day....*gazes mournfully off into the distance*
