I haven't tried it since adventure sync came in but there's a trick I used to use for distance.

1. Open the game right after closing it
2. Once the map fully loads minimize then game
3. Start an 8 minute timer
4. Drive around 1.3-1.5km from where you opened the game
5. Once the 8 minute timer is up open the game again

Sometimes the trick would work sometimes it wouldn't. Worth a try though.
