I heard somewhere Unowns are related to legendaries. Maybe there is something with multiple people with Unowns coming together to summon one, or something along those lines.

In 9 months, I've seen 2 Dragonites, So let's say I'd see a Dragonite every 4 months or so. With Unown about 30x less common than Dragonite, I would tend to see an unown about once every 120 months, or 10 years. So I'm looking at over 1000 years to find every unown.
Safe to say that Pokemon Go is going to stop being supported by my iPhone 483s in the year 3115.
