Obviously, you go for the most talent available, but with the forward ranks not looking too bad overall and the prospect pool for defensemen now consisting of Kylington, it might be necessary to devote a bunch of picks in that direction, even for the next couple seasons.
However, if the BPA is a forward or a goalie, then you go for it. Just like when Parsons fell into their lap.

This will be a BPA draft.
We need a little bit of quality in any position.
With the RW position pretty much solved this offseason, we can pretty much go with any position this draft and I wouldn’t be mad. Don’t move draft positions, just wait for the fallers to fall into your laps.
That’s how Detroit and NYI got solid prospects in the 1st round. I think we can get a faller in the 20’s (assuming that’s where we draft)
