Probably I am burned-out on it, playing it hundreds of times already.

I find it lacking. I don't mind the dice-rolling, but some people really don't like any randomness in games. I find the decisions are obvious - after you have played it a lot, it is usually clear what you should do on your set-up, and on your turns. The game is prone to king-making, and too often friends or couples work together, unbalancing the game. Some people get really upset if you put the robber on them.

The game is good at building tension, as you all race to get 10 points. The replayability comes from the random set-up of the board (the great innovation of this game).

Settlers of the Stone Age is the best of the series - much more strategic depth.
