Halfway through her front nine on Tuesday, another caddie informed her of the rules infraction, and she self-reported the violation to an LPGA official on hand at the Pete Dye Course.
“We had her recreate the times that that happened,” tour official Marty Robinson told Golfweek.
Walker was assessed a two-stroke penalty for each occurrence. Her opening round 85 turned into a 127. She was penalized 16 more strokes on the second round, ending with a 90 instead of a 74.
