That was such a cool show last night. Freda Kelly is just wonderful. She was so respected and loved by the Beatles. In 2012 when no one had received rights to any Beatles music for decades she finally came out of her silence and reluctantly asked for permission to use one song in her movie. She fully expected a no since no one had received permission in 30 years. But she not only got permission for her one song, they gave her the rights to 5 songs all of her choice. They gave her the keys to the kingdom.

Even years after her job ended she still answered fan mail for years. She saved hair from their haircuts to send to fans. She snuck pillow cases onto their pillows then sent them to fans. She stole their shirts and cut them up to send to fans. And always, she protected their autographs and never once sent out a stamped or secretary signed piece. There were so many great stories. She used to hand out spending money to the lads when they first got started, like a little bit of each check so they had money to walk around with. By 1965 they hadn't been picking up their money for a few years and she had every cent of it saved in accounts for them.

And Brian Griffiths was in the audience and told some more great stories...The guitar player for the Big Three who told John that Love Me Do sounded like a country song and would never be a hit. They swapped drummers a few times and played together a lot.

Pretty cool posters up front too. Original posters from The Cavern in 1962. Like about 100k in posters.
