I think a better comparison for Monahan is with Nieuwendyck.

I think Nieuwendyck went to the dirty places in front of the net a bit more than Monahan does.

But when either of them is in that position, they have the soft hands to score almost at will.

I think Nieuwendyck was better at faceoffs.
