This. I've done this many a time with ikea furniture. My home theater cabinet is actually all (slightly modified) ikea stuff.

Basically a computer fan that I mounted into the side of the ikea cabinet. They sell thermocouples and power supplies as well so it just plugs into a 120v outlet and turns on/off automatically. I have a fan in the side where my amp is and the side where my PS is to keep them cool with the doors on. Works well.
