Anyone following this? Massive rainstorm on the coast, moving west, has caused massive mudslides (possibly with casualties) and most highways into Vancouver almost completely cut off. There's 1 route that is a 7 hour detour, and it sounds like that might be a no-go soon too - and as of 10 seconds ago, it's closed, due to flooding, according to DriveBC. There is effectively, no route in or out of BC right now, from the sounds of it - Hwy 3 is closed east of Fernie due to flooding/storm, Hwy 93S has been a mess all day, people left Radium this morning and spent 10-12 hours on the highway, it shut down due to an accident, Hwy 1 is of course closed due to construction...it's a mess.
CAN-TF1/HUSAR has been called in for the slides by Ruby Creek, everywhere is flooding - Abbotsford, Chilliwack, there's been an evac called for NW of Princeton (Tulameen) and unofficial reports trickling in that there's been a train derailment north of Yale.
Holy Moses.
