Sure, a funny one is better than a not-so-funny one. But it feels that SNL is no longer a desired and cherished appearance for the top talent. When they invite a nothing-much former writer to appear for the fourth time in 3 seasons (!), it points to the obvious. Look at
this season line up of hosts and musical guests. That was the top talent across the board. Now?
