To be fair though, the number of sports, and with that, the total number of available medals, continues to rise each games.
I prefer to rate their success by how they rank. And currently they are 14th when ranked by gold, and 11th when ranked by total medals.
By comparison, they were 20th and 11th respectively in 2016. And in 2012, 20th and 15th.
So a slight improvement in total medals, but a definite improvement in gold (and silver)
