it's a mess. The health minister points to the evil footballers to distract from his own shortcomings, the PFA is not able to find a solution and a number of rich owners, who could easily afford to continue to pay their non-playing staff, choose not to and instead send them on furlough. I fully get the players' arguments that, while they are willing to take pay cuts, team owners should do their part as well.

Really like how Man United are handling this so far. Not only are they continuing to pay the staff, but Woodward and Maguire have also come to an agreement where the players don't have any wage cuts, but collectively donate 30 percent of their wages to charity and NHS services. Woodward is easy to hate, but he's handled all of this perfectly so far.
