Without wading too deep into this conversation, some of it comes across as pageantry, and it's so unattractive.
It's why I left hockey at 15 to snowboard, over 20 years ago. I resented hockey for a bunch of years after, and I remain jaded.
Returning to hockey as an adult with my friends 10 years ago, brought the love back.
You know why?
I started having fun again.
