very odd about the bathrooms though... if/when they build a new arena here, that would be something that you design for the occupancy load... and then add 20% on top of that max occupancy just in case...
going to check out Jerryworld down in Arlington in September, so i'm curious what that facility will be like...

The fans in the Molson area will hear some crowd noise but they are a few hundred feet from a view of the ice and they will have no interaction with the viewing crowd. Technically, they are on the concourse. I don't know what bathrooms those folks would use aside from the casino ones.
Here is a pic of the "concourse area". Notice at the bottom right are the metal detectors and past those is the rink.

Lack of bathrooms is one thing. The escalators are another issue.
