How is this a valid argument? Did Roy Halladay last as a better starter than reliever due to his hitting proficiency? It's the same as saying you better be a reliver because you can't hit well enough to justify 3 plate appearances.
We see pitchers throwing good games pulled from games in the 6th inning because their turn comes up in the order.
I'd rather see teams be able to place a dedicated hitter in the middle of the order and than be able to put 8 better players in the field because they don't havecto worry about two auto outs in the order with the pitcher.
