The Flames would be lucky to just find an excellent second line that can be counted on to take some pressure off the 1st line. I’d take that honestly as I’m not expecting miracles here with the limited asset base this team has and the awful looking UFA crop.

I can't argue your points.
Kind of my point though; I think the Flames tried to build around the guys they had but failed miserably. If they want an elite top line they need to have a plan and stick to it until it is finished. Without that it is not going to happen. We are winning meaningless games, this doesn't appear to be an advantage the Flames were willing to use.
Guess we just have to wait and see what the Flames have in store for the off season!
