Washington Capitals Update - Figured I should lead by example and make a post about my team

As we write this the Capitals have are coming of a 3 game stretch in 3 days. A fifth of the season has been played and the campaign hasn’t gone very well. With a losing record and team chemistry still up in the air the progress hasn’t been made in the second season for GM Bagopucks.

WSH GM hasn’t been sitting calmly as he has shown his displeasure with some of his players by waiving a new player once a week or so. It seems like half the team has been on waivers. It probably speaks to the terrible quality of players the team has brought in. The team is running a relatively low Cap number and that is on the GM. The lack of progress for this season sits mostly on GM Bagopucks on the approach he has taken.

There are some positives so far. Alex Iafallo and a Philip Danualt are playing well. Kessel and Klefbom are coming off injuries and are being eased into the line up. Some of the other players are trying to find their scoring touch but are unlikely to catch fire unless chemistry clicks.

Capitals also have recently signed free agents Josh Pillar, Jack Matier and Ben Gleason

Some of the prospects in the AHL and ECHL are performing well for the Capitals. In the AHL Liljegren is starting get some cracks at the NHL level, Troy Terry is playing better than he did last season, Tanner Jeannot and Henrik Borgstrom are also player in the NHL. Jacob Peterson had a good camp in the NHL but hasn’t found a way to make it stick. Kyle Okposo also is playing decent in the NHL and hoping to have a bounce back season.

In the ECHL Brendan Brisson has been scoring at a high pace in the NCAA. Seth Jarvis has gotten into a few NHL games and late first round pick Xavier Bourgault is scoring well in the QMJHL. Helge Grans has found himself playing a few games at the AHL level and Brandt Clarke has returned to scoring in the OHL that is functioning this season.

Overall, the teams future pieces are progressing but the CPHL team is struggling to find traction. With 60+ games remaining, Washington will continue to fight for a playoff spot and find sim chemistry. GM Bagopucks thinks it is important to take the time to learn the simulator as it should come in handy as the franchise inches towards the goal of winning the cup.

Below is our current roster.
