Bill Jaffe (who covers a lot of college hockey and does some NHL) talking Jankowski + Gilmour + Hickey

http://pmd.fan960.com/audio_on_deman...-Interview.mp3

starts around the 3 minute mark.

Summary:

Thinks Friars have a legit opportunity to repeat a National Championship.
thinks providence will beat Minnesota-Duluth on Friday
Coach Leaman plays a very structured in your face, fun style of game. It's aggressive not sit back. Real good traditional hockey.

Jankowski
still want to see him put on 15-20lbs
up 30-35lbs since he started college, probably up to 200-201lbs right now
think he will top off around 215lbs
real good vision, nice hands
would like to see him shoot a little more
good news for Flames fans that he is putting up more points
bright kid, cerebal
need a little more time to continue developing
seeing a steady progression from him
don't know if he will be ready next year to shoot out of camp and be a mainstay on the team
I think I see the right things coming out of him because he is a little harder on the puck.
When he gets stronger he will play more of that pro game.
Because he thinks the game well and some seasoning in the AHL there is a chance there [to be a NHL player]

Gilmour
puck moving and mobility
Leaman says he has stepped up this year and taken the next step in development
doing a nice job of exiting the zone
really smart
the top defencemen on the friars all move very well

Hickey
liked his progress too
Coach wants guys on backend "not to be puck luggers but puck movers"
Hickey is a nice mover, nice mobility, gets involved an awful lot
enjoy watching him
term used for Hickey is fluid
won't put ginormous numbers
just around the puck a lot
he has been involved with his skating to shut down the opponent
