The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed forward Curtis Lazar to a two-year contract.

The Flames originally acquired Lazar on March 1st, 2017 in a trade with Ottawa that included defenceman Mike Kostka in exchange for Jyrki Jokipakka and Calgary's second round pick in 2017. The native of Salmon Arm, BC was a first round pick (17th overall) by the Senators in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Lazar played in four games with Calgary following the trade, recording three points from one goal and two assists. He also appeared in one playoff game with the Flames. Lazar has played 180 regular season games in the NHL and recorded 39 points (13G, 26A) and 36 PIM. The 22-year-old captained the gold medal-winning Team Canada squad at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championships in Toronto and Montreal.

AAV: $950,000
